ABOUT MIARTISME

 

 

I was adopted at 10 days old in Fort Myers, Florida.  I was named Kelly Sue Walters and grew up in Port Charlotte, Florida.  By age 5, I won my first art contest.  The prize was a ride on a fire engine around the city of Punta Gorda.  

 

I studied art in New Jersey and Pennsylvania after moving away from Port Charlotte at 18. My success as an artist continued all the way from childhood, through high school, and throughout college.

 

I moved back to Florida after living in New Jersey for 14 years.  I began painting and illustrating prolifically after some traumatic experiences and people noticed me.  I changed my name in the art world to MIARTISME.  People call me Mia.

 

I had a long run creating paintings on commission.  I showed my art work at the Von Liebig Art Center and the Philharmonic in Naples, Florida.  My art was published in magazines and news releases.  I was hosted on NPR.

 

I had a MySpace where I networked myself all over the world and made friends in many countries.  I painted for charity and to raise awareness for people who were wrongly imprisoned in other countries.

 

I studied the correlation between art and music as well as the connection between art and science.  I collaborated with other artists to create guitars and stage sets at the local theater.

 

I currently live in Naples, FL with my family.  I am a licensed insurance agent in the State of Florida.  I want to help people and have a great respect for people older than me, thus specializing in Medicare supplements and Life Insurance.  I have a studio on my property where I paint and illustrate. I love art and it has been and will always be a great love of mine.  I am blessed by God.
