Artists must sketch daily to hone and fine tune their eye-hand coordination. There are artists who brag that they never sketch because they are good enough already. Artists like that will never improve. No artist should ever stop wanting to grow.

Everything a person sees is captured in the mind's eye and filed away into the brain's memory. Everything a person draws is cemented even further into the brain's memory. The hand is attached to the eye in a non-literal sense. To more accurately record what an artist sees the artist must exercise their hand to capture information. The way an artist exercises their hand is to sketch.

Buy a sketchbook. There are numerous styles of sketchbooks available in many different sizes. Sketchbooks can be purchased for minimal cost. Artist to Artist, please sketch and within a year look at the first drawings made and compare with the recent drawings. Drawings should progressively improve as confidence in sketching improves. Have fun. Sketch, Sketch, and Sketch.
